UNA’s unique modular design makes disassembly & reassembly simple, but it’s important to follow the correct order and use the right tools to avoid damaging components. Below is a straightforward guide to help you reassemble your watch after performing maintenance or for a module replacement.
Before You Begin
- Work on a clean, flat surface with good lighting.
- Use a T3 Torx screwdriver
- Handle all components carefully and avoid touching internal connectors or the display surface.
Front
Display (UNAview)
- Identify the 4 front screws (one in each corner)
- Remove these carefully.
- Do not overtighten; these screws hold the hardened mineral glass, and excessive torque can crack it.
GPS & Bluetooth Modules (UNAlinks)
- On either side of the core, there are two link modules.
- Each module is held by two screws.
- Confirm the correct orientation; the connectors should face inwards towards the core.
Back
Battery (UNApower)
- Turn the watch over and identify the 6 screws in place.
- Carefully remove the 4 corner screws, followed by the 2 middle screws (when placing these back, make sure to tighten them evenly to ensure an even seal and avoid any pressure points on the housing
- There is a single screw holding the battery in place.
- Confirm the connector is fully seated before tightening.
Final Checks
- Confirm all components sit flush with no visible gaps.
- Power on the watch to ensure a successful connection between modules.
- If the watch doesn’t power on, check the battery connector first; it’s the most common cause.
Notes
- Do not mix up screws; all consumer-accessible screws are T3 Torx, but there are two lengths (silver for the link modules, black for everything else).
- Avoid overtightening; snug and secure is sufficient.
